"DisAbilityVOICE - Disability Rights Advocate"

'a global perspective of the disability world'

"DisAbilityVOICE - Disability Rights Advocate" proponents believe that 'People with Disabilities are ValueABLE.' The life of a person who is experiencing a disability should be Valued. Likewise, individuals with a disability can experience a life full of Value.

Individuals with disabilities do have a VOICE. Just as people without a disability, People experiencing disabilities express themselves in a variety of ways. Are we listening. Listen in your mind and heart.

Learn to listen through the 5 common senses. Use your ears to hear their audible thoughts. Use your mouth to speak kind words of encouragement. Incorporate your eyes to really see the person and understand their experience. Use your hands to help, if needed, when asked, and only to edify.

Combine your heart of compassion with your wise mind to devise a world that accepts people with a disability. Are you listening? Do you hear? Do you see? Do you feel? Are you thinking of positive ways to enrich the lives of individuals who have a disability.

You just might discover that we are more the same than we are different.

... Compassion not pity; a helping hand not just help; to be understood not misunderstood; to be seen not treated as invisible; to be respected not hated; to be accepted not denied; to be included not an outcast; dwelling on the positive not on the negative; seeking a fulfilling life not a life of disappointments---
