Employing Employees on the Autism Spectrum

National Disability Employment Awareness Month(NDEAM) is in October.  Autism is considered a developmental disability. autism NOW is providing a headstart!  'EnjoyHi5Autism' is sharing examples of companies that are 'Employing Employees on the Autism Spectrum'.

autism NOW is conducting their first webinar for their Employment Series.
Time: Tuesday, September 27, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM EST
Speaker: John Butterworth
Method: Dial in (U.S. and Canada) ; ReadyTalk webinar services
REGISTRATION is requested.

Individuals who are on the autism spectrum or who have developmental disabilities often face challenges when it comes to attaining and maintaining employment; however, with the appropriate supports, many of these individuals can be successfully employed. For the next five weeks, Autism NOW will be providing webinars that will focus on employment as well as post-secondary education.

The session will include a discussion of how we are doing, examples of promising practices in employment support and outcomes, and give examples of how states are incorporating "employment first" in policy and practice.

EnjoyHi5Autism would like to encourage individuals with Autism to pursue a career of their choice. Here are 2 of many examples of how effective Employees on the Autism Spectrum can be when they are trained and matched for employment with accommodations/modifications, as needed.
