N.Y. Mets propose 'sensory-friendly' baseball game enjoyment for fans with Autism



Current consideration: The Mets currently hold Autism Awareness Days, their last on May 6, where they provide a private area to escape the crowds, quieter music and reduced use of their strobe lights
'We recently surveyed #Mets fans about a quiet section at Citi Field. It was prompted by requests received from parents of autistic children...
'A more quiet section is helpful for autistic children,' they wrote on their Twitter feed.

'You want to allow all kids ... to enjoy a baseball game. So why not just say that?' he added.
The Mets currently hold annual Autism Awareness Days, with their last on May 6, but say they're considering expanding special sections for these fans and their families year around.
Taking recommendations from Autism Speaks, their last autism event created a 'private, secluded area in the Bullpen Plaza where fans can go if they need a break from the crowd.
